Although at some point I will address the issues of having a job (or in my case multiple jobs) while attempting to write a novel and sell myself mercilessly to the publishing world.  The multitasking to which I am referring, however, is that of writing multiple creative stories at once.

My one finished piece (this is not entirely true as I have finished other pieces but refuse to share them) is my selling point.  I've queried many an agent and editor and have so far received multiple rejections.  But that one novel is not my only idea.  I have lots...maybe too many.

I actually have a file folder (tangible, not on my computer) in my office full of ideas ranging from novelty and baby books all the way to adult and romance.  I have
multiple digital files as well that continue to grow almost daily.

So, while I'm busy sending out batches of query letters to agents, I'm still writing.  Actually, I'm writing four other novels at the same time.

Although it may serve my best interest to write one at a time, finish it, and move onto the next, I need variation.  Like many other writers, I have mood swings and emotional fluctuations on a regular basis.  In order to properly harness these changes, I have to work on more than one project at a time.  I have a middle grade comedy, a middle grade fantasy, a picture book, a YA action, and an adult love story.

I figured I can exploit any emotion and focus it into productivity...well, at least I can try.  I'll let you know how it goes.
