Not too surprisingly, the actual purpose and extent of The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) toward creating the North American Union is not being revealed. While some projects are clearly known, none of the leaders (Presidents) seem to have much to say about the NAU. It seems that each of them do not think the public of each of the three countries should know about it.Here are some of the accomplishments of the SPP since 2005:
- Increase cooperation among police - especially at the borders.
- Return of over 35,000 expatriates to their home country between Mexico and the U.S.
- Increasing cooperation between computer systems and medical agencies in terms of response time in national emergencies.
- To prevent illegal cargo from crossing borders by more efficient gamma ray scanners at main crossing points.
- Make energy systems more compatible to render energy assistance across borders when needed.
- Made an Open Skies Agreement in which prices are now open to competition when flying between countries.
Among these items, you can plainly see that the cooperation between the three countries has greatly increased. This brings up the idea that it is getting ready to operate as one - and these are only a few.
The NAFTA trade agreement, created a few years ago (1994), has created the need for a superhighway being built between Mexico and the United States. Recent news, however, has brought out the prospect that this highway is super-sized and will go all the way into Canada.
Some Congressmen are actually looking into creating resolutions (HCON 487 IH) to stop what is taking place concerning the NAFTA highway. They have become aware they Congress was never involved in any of the decision-making process, and know that Congress is still not involved. This means that there are non-public
Other worldwide trends are also pushing toward a North American Union. With the Euro increasing in power over the dollar, as well as China removing its base on the dollar, it is bringing about a new low for our currency. Of course, that is just being given as a good reason to bring in a new currency - the Amero. Another reason, according to those who will profit from the new money, is that billions of dollars are lost each year in exchanging the money between the nations.
Two agencies are also proposed that would further take away the sovereignty of the United States in North America. These agencies are proposed as being necessary for a sound union of the three countries. The first of these is that a trade organization be founded which would have jurisdiction to ensure that no single nation (especially America) try to exert power over the trade rules and practices between boundaries in North America.
The second agency deals with immigration. When created it will have power over the Customs and Immigration agency already operating within the United States. Its decisions would be final, and our own laws could be relegated to a secondary and powerless position in case of a conflict. This also means that most likely the immigrants in the U.S. will be granted citizenship. If you notice, there is a strong disposition of the White House in that direction.
The plan also calls for almost nonexistent borders between the three countries, and a very strong and defensible border around North America from enemies of any kind. It also looks like the building of a so-called security fence between Mexico and the U.S. is more of a smokescreen – for appearance sake only.
