Baltimore-born and raised with the most normal of childhoods. I graduated from a college in Western NY state, and began to understand, during my time there, that I don't like snow showers in April, or to feel my ears burn in January as soon as my hat comes off. I lived in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and want to go back ASAP.

In the fourth segment of Zeitgeist, other events in the recent past are drawn in, and the film attempts to create links between these events to implicate the government (and, in particular, the FBI and CIA) in the planning and execution of acts of terror with the goal of manipulating the public opinion in order to pass legislation, increase funding, and begin wars. The conclusion also includes a movie clip, and a sound recording of a speech given by President John F. Kennedy. The film closes with footage of the Kennedy assassination.

Translation: 'The Spirit of the Age'

The final segment of Zeitgeist begins to deviate from September 11, and begins to draw in a number of conspiracy theories (Oklahoma City, the first attack on the World Trade Center, the USS Cole, and even the Kennedy assassination). The voiceover of the former FBI agent, Ted Gunderson, implicates the CIA or FBI for the more recent acts of terror. According to him, all of these plots were enacted to create an ever-increasing flow of money and power to International Intelligence, Domestic Intelligence, and Military entities in the United States, and to ease legislation to these ends through Congress.

Next, the movie states that on the day of the bombings in London, British police and special forces were conducting an exercise to assess their capabilities of responding to the exact same attack, locations and times included. This is one of those 'double take' bits of information. It's hard to understand the odds of a coincidence like this, and to look at them realistically is frightening.

It is when conspiracy theories get this large that my mind begins to back away and question the plausibility of such plots. To imply a cohesive, directed, series of events pre-planned and orchestrated by what would have to be an incredibly large group, seems too much. What does seem reasonable is to wonder if certain small groups unknowingly or knowingly working together on a case by case basis to achieve specific goals (specific legislation). However, in all of these theories, there is a noticeable lack of inside informants. Whatever the reason for this lack, it always weakens the case being made.

The 911 Truth:

Criminal elements within the US Government staged a 'False Flag' Terror Attack on its own citizens, in order to manipulate public perception into supporting its agenda.

They have been doing these for years.

911 was an Inside Job

Thus we have the final conclusion of the movie. The problem here is the broad umbrella that this accusation covers. 'Criminal Elements' ? This is, ultimately, the frustration with conspiracy theories. There are no answers, there are only the accusations and the inconsistencies that lead to them. However, the film accomplished, at this point, what it set out to do. It provided a reasonable idea set supporting the theory that on September 11, what happened is not what we have been led to believe happened.

The remainder of the movie (and additional five minutes or so) was a turn off to me. I've no interest in watching a movie clip that ties loosely with the gist of the film (especially when excerpts from the likes of classic works: 1984, Brave New World, would have been much more fitting). In addition, the photographs of victims jumping for their lives, and the use of the audio from (apparently?) inside one of the World Trade Center.
